I am Dr Elena Chtereva, a Chartered Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Division of Counselling Psychology of the British Psychological Society. During my training and post-qualifying, I received extensive training in applying Psychodynamic Therapy, Relational Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Emotionally Focussed Therapy, and EMDR more recently. I came across Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the model immediately resonated with me.

I have worked professionally with individuals, couples and groups since 2005 and have over 16 years of experience in psychotherapeutic and mental health settings. I have experience working for the NHS, mental health organisations such as Mind, student-counselling services, Headway and private practice.

My particular areas of interest are mental health, personal traumas, relational and attachment issues, and brain injury. I can also work effectively with individuals from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
