When relationships are struggling, it can feel isolating and hard to know where to turn. I work with couples who want to understand what's really going on between them - and find a way back to each other.
I bring an engaged, interactive style to couples work: curious, direct, and collaborative. Sessions are active and purposeful, not passive.
My training in couples therapy is unusually broad. I hold an MA in Couples Psychotherapy from Tavistock Relationships - one of the world's leading institutes - and was the first therapist in the UK to qualify in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) through UK training. I'm also trained in IFS/IFIO (intimacy from the Inside out) and Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy. So I'm not working from a single script.
I tend to work well with thoughtful, engaged couples - often professionals in demanding fields who are used to thinking carefully, but perhaps less so about their relationship and their connection on a feeling level.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I read Law at Oxford and worked as a corporate finance solicitor and commercial director in the City. I've been studying and working in the psychotherapy field for over 30 years.
