Levels of Training in
​Emotionally Focused Therapy

Our EFT therapist directory includes full members of the BEFT Centre who are qualified counsellors and have completed at least a 4 day Externship in EFT. They are also members of ICEEFT (International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy) and are on their International Directory.

Externship
Therapists who have attended the 4 day Externship course that is the foundation course for EFT training.
Additional training with Required EFT supervision
Therapists who have completed an Externship and a further 36-48 hours of training and a minimum of 8 hours of EFT supervision by a Certified or Candidate Supervisor.
The training will have been either 8 days of Core Skills or 2 days of an Advanced Externship + 24 hours of EFT Group Supervision. ​
Certified EFT Therapists
Have successfully demonstrated mastery of EFT skills and passed the certification process with ICEEFT to be certified EFT therapists.

EFT Supervisor Candidates
Have completed certification as an EFT therapist and are undergoing training to become an EFT certified supervisor. (Only supervision by Certified EFT Supervisors and Candidate Supervisors can be counted towards a therapist's certification supervision requirements.)
Certified EFT Therapists & Supervisors
Have also successfully completed the supervisor certification process with ICEEFT and are qualified to supervise other EFT therapists. (Only supervision by Certified EFT Supervisors and Candidate Supervisors can be counted towards a therapist's certification supervision requirements.)

EFT Trainer in Training
Are Certified EFT Therapists and Supervisors who are in the process of becoming EFT Trainers.

Certified EFT Therapist, Supervisor & Trainer
Are Certified EFT Therapists and Supervisors who have undergone an intensive training and achieved certification by ICEEFT as an EFT Trainer. Only EFT Trainers are qualified to deliver EFT Externships and Core Skills courses.
